Single parenting is one such topic, especially when the parent is a father. However, many men are breaking stereotypes and slaying single parenting.

Single fathers in Bollywood who are breaking stereotypes
Though it’s not an easy role to raise a child, especially when you’re alone, some Bollywood celebrities have taken on the role of being single fathers, setting an example for the society.
This Father’s Day, let’s check out a list of single dads in Bollywood.
1. Chandrachur Singh
The actor decided to put his career on hold to raise his son, Shaarnjai, born in 2007. He has shared that being a single father took up most of his time. In a previous interview with Hindustan Times, Chandrachur said, “Being with my son was important to me and I don’t regret my decision one bit! Also, spirituality, music, and above all, my son helped me sail through the bad times.” After the sabbatical, he was recently seen making a comeback with Aarya alongside Sushmita Sen in 2020.
2. Karan Johar
Karan Johar welcomed twins, Roohi and Yash, in 2017 via IVF. In TapeCast Season 2, on being asked about the lessons he would teach his kids, Karan shared, “All I can do is love with all my heart. All I can do is also make sure that they do the right thing because I have grown up very strongly with a very strong sense of right and wrong by my parents. And I want to inculcate that in Yash and Roohi myself.”
3. Tusshar Kapoor
Tusshar also had his kid, Laksshya Kapoor, via IVF. In an interview with The Indian Express, he once shared fascinating insights into his fatherhood journey, his experience with IVF and surrogacy, the support and encouragement he received from friends and family, and how he continues to charge on an unconventional path. Tusshar, who turned an author this year, published his book Bachelor Dad, which talks about his journey to fatherhood.
4. Rahul Dev
A successful model, Rahul went on to do some movies and impressed the audiences with his portrayals of on-screen villains. However, not many know that after losing his wife to cancer, Rahul took on the responsibility of raising his son, Sidharth, single-handedly. Another lesser known fact about his journey as a single father entails his decision to participate in Bigg Boss 10 so he could fund his son’s higher studies.
5. Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan, the actor-turned-politician, got separated from his wife Sarika in 2004. He is a proud father of two beautiful daughters – Shruti and Akshara, both of whom are very much active in the film industry. It is truly commendable how a superstar took on the responsibility of raising his daughters and did so quite amazingly.
6. Rahul Bose
Rahul Bose adopted six kids, all aged 11, from Andaman and Nicobar Islands with the help of his charity institution in 2007. The names of his adopted children are Pratima, Rukhsar, Matrena, Bindu, Jinu and Animesh. He raised around Rs 2.4 million for his children’s education and upbringing alone.
