Adam Rickitt as Nick Tilsley on Coronation Street in 2003

Adam Rickitt looks unrecognisable more than two decades after making his debut on ITV ’s Coronation Street.

The 43-year-old has ditched his famous blonde locks in favour of a close cropped brunette hairdo, and in images shared on social media, his chiselled good looks can still be seen 25 years after he shot to fame as heartthrob Nick.

He played Gail Platt’s eldest son from 1997 to 2004, before being replaced by Ben Price.

During his stint on the soap, his character caused uproar when he married Leanne Battersby at the age of 17, before later paying for her to have an abortion because he wasn’t ready to have a family.

The couple separated shortly afterwards, and when he returned to the cobbles once again, Nick began a romance with Maria.

Adam first left the role in 1999, as he embarked on a short lived music career, releasing hit single Breathe Again after signing a six-album deal with Polydor.

However his album Good Times failed to light up the charts, and only made it to number 41, resulting in him being dropped by his label.

Adam later decided to carve out a career in politics, and even appeared on Question Time in 2006 as a candidate for the Conservative Party, but quit as he was unable to find a constituency to stand for election in.

He turned his hand to singing once again, as he joined pop group 5th Story on The Big Reunion, alongside Dane Bowers, Gareth Gates, Kavana and Kenzie.

Adam returned to TV screens once again in 2017, but this time he was cast as Kyle Kelly in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

In 2020, viewers were heartbroken after his character devastatingly lost his battle to depression, and he committed suicide after spending the day with his former girlfriend Nancy.

Since leaving the soap, he’s been spending quality time with wife Katy Fawcett, who works on Good Morning Britain.

Adam and Katy are gin experts, and spend time making the spirit at home, and even opened a gin bat in Cheshire named Dexter and Jones, which successfully reopened after the Covid-19 lockdown.

The couple settled down with their three dogs, and revealed he has an autoimmune disease – Ankylosing Spondylitis – that causes infertility.

He insisted he and Katy were happy without kids, and said he hasn’t been “brainwashed” by society into starting a family.
