What is Ricotta Toast?

It really is so simple, kind of like avocado toast. It is ricotta cheese on toast. Ricotta is mild, creamy, and almost melts into your bread like butter. It is super versatile and you can top it with sweet or savory foods and it is so delicious both ways! Avocado toast has been all the rage, but ricotta toast deserves a some fans too!

How to Make Ricotta Toast {American Flag Style}

  1. Start with a good hearty bread like sourdough, or whole wheat. Toast until very brown and slightly crunchy.
  2. Spread a generous layer of ricotta cheese on top. You can use just regular ricotta, or if you like it more light and fluffy, whip it in a food processor for a couple of minutes until creamy.
  3. If you like a little more sweetness, you an drizzle a bit of honey on the ricotta before topping.
  4. Slice your banana, and then cut the slices in half.
  5. Add blueberries in a row in the left corner of the toast to represent stars. Alternate the raspberries and bananas on the rest of the toast in rows to look like stripes.
  6. Done and done! Enjoy!
