Armando Rubio wants a baby with Kenneth Niedermeier now that they’re getting married. The American 90 Day Fiancé star has his reasons to refuse.
A new 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way baby is possibly on the way for Armando Rubio and Kenneth Niedermeier as the season 3 couple plan their marriage. Fan-favorites Armando and Kenny have had a rough season so far when it comes to getting the blessings of Armando Sr. and the Rubio family. Now that Kenny and Armando have permission to get married from the government, they have one less hurdle to clear on 90 Day Fiancé. To celebrate their win, Armando has an exciting new idea that involves having a baby brother or sister for Hannah. Kenny, however, isn’t too pleased.
Interestingly, the beloved 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple met through a gay fathers support group and immediately hit it off. San Felipe resident Armando was previously married to a woman and had a daughter, Hannah, with his ex-wife. Unfortunately, Armando’s ex-wife was pregnant when she died in a car crash a few months after their separation. Meanwhile, Kenny is a dad to four grown children, including triplet daughters Taylor, Cassidy and Madison; and son Bryson. Kenny has a grandson, Cooper, and he’s currently back in America to welcome Cass’ baby, Julian.
However, after having raised a whole family all by himself as a gay man, Kenny might not be okay with becoming a father all over again. In a preview clip for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode 8, shared by E! News, Armando broached the baby topic by first talking about adoption, and the conversation ended up leaving Kenneth shocked. According to Armando, Kenneth was hesitant to adopt due to his age. But Armando wants to have more kids since he belongs to a large extended family himself. The couple seemed to have discussed adopting a child close to Hannah’s age, but Armando wants a baby, to which Kenny reacted, “A baby’s a lot, you know. Remember having a baby? The work that goes into a newborn?” St. Petersburg resident Kenny thinks that people approaching their 60’s shouldn’t be having babies.
When asked by Armando to be honest if it’s something he doesn’t want, Kenny admitted that he does envision it happening, but at the same time they should be logical about it. Armando then suggested that they have a baby that is Kenny’s “blood,” which means “like in vitro or something,” and his partner was visibly shaken. Armando thinks that going down the IVF route would “be more special,” though he was hesitant at first to mention it due to Kenny’s age. Armando knew it would be harder to convince Kenny about IVF. But in his view, he wants to have “a part of Kenny” just like he has Hannah, who has his blood. “To grow our family, I’d love Kenny to donate his sperm and we would have a baby that’s his blood, and I think it’d be beautiful to have something of it,” added Armando.
Regardless, Armando’s idea appears to have been rejected by Kenny, who’d rather adopt and help an older child that is in need to give them a beautiful home. Kenny did agree that they make amazing parents together, but the future remains uncertain for them as they grow older. Both Kenny and Armando have rarely ever argued before on the show and remain largely unproblematic. But it could be their baby-making plans that create a rift between everyone’s favorite reality TV couple.
