Bradley Jared Macaranas Borja was charged in connection to the traffic death of a pregnant woman in August.

According to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam, Borja was involved in a fatal crash in Yigo with another car, in which there were two women, at around 10 p.m. Aug. 19.
One of the women, who was 22 weeks pregnant, was declared dead at 10:48 p.m.

A crash report concluded Borja was driving 55 mph between lanes before colliding head on with the other vehicle and a toxicology report after the crash showed Borja tested positive for opiates, according to the complaint.
Bradley Jared Macaranas Borja arrested in connection with August traffic fatality
When Borja was interviewed, he told officers he was at a Yigo residence where he drank a Corona Seltzer before leaving. He said at the time he thought he was driving 25 mph when when he saw a car coming fast toward him, but didn’t know if it was in his lane or not, the complaint stated.
One dead, two injured in Yigo crash
Borja denied having taken any drugs when shown his toxicology report.
Borja originally said he heard something about a woman dying in the crash but didn’t know. After being told the woman was 22 weeks pregnant he said, “She was pregnant, never mind, you guys got me. I’m done.”
Borja was charged with:
- Vehicular homicide while driving impaired as a second-degree felony.
- Two counts of vehicular negligence as a third-degree felony.
- Negligent homicide as a third-degree felony.
- Two counts of reckless driving with injuries as a misdemeanor.
- Operation of a motor vehicle without a valid operator’s license as a violation.
