Maria Sharapova celebrated her 35th birthday Tuesday with an announcement. The Russian former tennis star is pregnant with her first child.
“Precious beginnings!!! Eating birthday cake for two has always been my specialty,” the five-time grand slam champions wrote on Instagram.
Sharapova announced her engagement to Alexander Gilkes in December 2020, who commented with a heart eye emoji on the post to share in the news.
The former No. 1 tennis player retired in February 2020 with the Australian Open that year being her last appearance.
