Meghan King Is Struggling To Co-Parent With Jim Edmonds

Meghan King and Jim Edmonds are trying to co-parent, but the divorced Real Housewives of Orange County couple is still facing communication issues.

Former The Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King and her ex-husband Jim Edmonds got divorced in May 2021, and Meghan has shared that co-parenting with her ex hasn’t been easy. Fans know that Meghan and Jim share three children: daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, 3. Meghan has been open about her IVF journey and her desire to have kids with Jim despite the fact that he had undergone a vasectomy prior to their marriage. Meghan had chronicled the process by filming various videos of her injecting herself with hormones, which she openly shared with RHOC viewers.

The couple announced the happy news that they were expecting their first child in 2016. However, the journey wasn’t without its struggles. Meghan shared that, during the IVF process, her hormones were causing a lot of emotional ups and downs that caused some friction between her and Jim. In 2018, after undergoing another IVF treatment, Meghan and Jim welcomed their twin baby boys. Unfortunately, a few years later, the couple announced their separation after several rumors came to the surface that Jim was having an affair with their nanny.

This week, Meghan shared with Us Weekly that co-parenting with Jim has been difficult and that the two have been really struggling with communication. Meghan admitted that she doesn’t have any co-parenting advice to give and even joked, “I don’t know what co-parenting is.” She even went so far as to say, “Jim hates me.” The two exes already had communication issues even before Jim got engaged to Kortnie O’Connor. Now, Meghan wishes that she and Jim could talk openly with each other about their children. She also revealed that their kids don’t like their lack of communication either.

Meghan and Jim’s marriage faced lots of criticism while she was on RHOC. The former MLB player was often away from work, and while he was there, fans thought that he seemed annoyed or condescending toward Meghan. During her stint on RHOC, Meghan underwent her first IVF treatment and Jim was mostly absent during that process. She admitted to looking back on her seasons and reflecting on how she made excuses for him at the time.

Despite their issues, Meghan and Jim continue to co-parent the best they can. Meghan said that her co-parenting is mostly with Jim’s fiancĂ©e Kortnie, even though they don’t have too much communication with each other. Still, Meghan has publicly supported their relationship and said that Jim showing stability with a partner is the best model for their children. Meghan recently made headlines with her short marriage to Cuffe Owens, Joe Biden’s nephew, which only lasted two months. She shared that it left her “rattled,” but her children remain her priority as she processes her pain.
