Pregnant woman, man stable after I-196 rollover crash in Kent County

KENT COUNTY, MI – A pregnant woman and a man were listed in stable condition after a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-196 Sunday morning.

The vehicle was exiting eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive but drove too fast and rolled into the curve, said Michigan State Police spokesperson Lt. Michelle Robinson.

The pregnant woman was thrown from the passenger seat, but was conscious and alert at the scene, Robinson said.

The male driver received minor injuries. Both are stable, and injuries are not life-threatening, Robinson said.

Lanes of eastbound I-196 after M-45 were closed after the crash and as MSP cleared the scene, but have since reopened.
