Savannah homicide victim was a pregnant mother, no arrests made

The victim of a deadly shooting in Savannah was a mother of two who was also pregnant with her third child, according to a friend.The shooting happened on April 10.Chatham County Police Department officials said that a security guard found a woman shot to death inside a car near the entrance of the Regency Mobile Home Park on Quacco Road. On Thursday, CCPD confirmed to WJCL 22 News that the victim was Maranda Dover. Loved ones said that she went by “Randi.”“She didn’t deserve it. She still deserves justice,” said Manosia Williams, a close friend of the victim.Williams said Dover was like a sister to her.They met in middle school and have been friends ever since.“She has the heart of gold. Everybody who knows her loves her,” Williams said.She said it was heartbreaking to learn that someone killed Dover, but Williams found it even more troubling that Dover’s two children reportedly witnessed their mother’s death.“Her children were there in the backseat with her,” Williams said. “It was very shocking. Who would do that to someone not just pregnant, but in front of her children? It was devastating. We still can’t believe that it happened.”CCPD labeled the investigation as a homicide.
