This Sizzling Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef is a fancy lunch or dinner idea that you can easily make at home.
The smell of this, while it simmers and the slow cooker does its work, is mouthwatering. If you’re a fan of spicy food, you’ll definitely love it as well!
However, if you have kids, you can lessen the ginger and make do without the chilli. That way the kids can enjoy it too.
You’ll find yourself eating too much rice with this Sizzling Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef! Even the sauce is delectable!
Loosen up those pants! We warned you!
Method
-
Cut beef across the grain into 1cm slices and coat in cornflour. Then, add it to the slow cooker bowl.
-
In a jug or similar container, mix together ginger, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce, and chilli (optional, remove if you do not want spicy), then add oil.
-
Cook on high for 4 hours, stirring once after one hour, and again on the 3-hour mark.
-
Leave some of the chilli to garnish if you prefer. Or you can add the chilli on the 3 hours and 30 minutes mark.
-
Serve on top of hot or warm rice then garnish with shallots. Perfect for lunch boxes!
-
If you want to add veggies to this, add chopped carrots (optional) on the 3-hour mark.
