U.S. CDC issues health alert for pregnant women to get vaccinatedNews

The U.S. CDC has made an urgent recommendation that pregnant women get vaccinated.
On Wednesday, local time, the agency posted on its website that vaccination is recommended for all people over 12 years old including those who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
According to the agency more than 125,000 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in pregnant people as of September 27th including more than 22,000 cases of hospitalization and 161 deaths with 97-percent of cases among the unvaccinated.
And the C.D.C. has stated that the benefits outweigh the risks for expectant mothers, adding that COVID-19 in pregnancy can cause preterm birth or babies born so sick they have to go straight to a neonatal intensive care unit.
